An attempt at posting the first Blue Man video

It's a terrible video -- and the ending gets cut off...but I'm attempting to post it anyway.

Blue Men Revisited

As mentioned previously, we performed Blue Man Group again at the family Talent Show in Maryland. I graciously offered to take myself out of the performance in order to provide a spot for Spencer and Aaron. Afterall -- don't the Kerr boys make nice Blue Men?

Not your typical talent

In May, our family participated in the ward talent show. I am in no way speaking for my spouse or my children...only myself...when I say that some of us without real talents have to fake it. Thus, my participation in BLUE MAN GROUP.
Suffice it to say that what started out as, "Blue Man might be a fun talent show to do," turned into quite a production. We spent several days and many hours at the church in preparation for the actual "event."
We couldn't have pulled it off without the help of the local magic and costume shop, in addition too -- and most importantly -- all of our "stage hands." (A.K.A. the rest of the Kerr's. Bill and a friend created the pipe instrument, Connie sewed the screen, Jennie and Ted assisted with the props and make-up. Additionally, Bill spent many hours at the church with Greg adjusting the sound equipment and rigging up a contraption to hold the equipment 15 feet off the stage floor -- suspended from the ceiling. I knew at one point, when we had a scary moment up on the ladder that I was on my own -- if Greg could only save one of us, it was going to be the sound equipment.
All in all - a fun and crazy evening. Pictures would have come sooner -- but we knew we were going to be performing again for the family talent show which was held in Maryland last weekend. Thus, we had to keep the surprise a secret.
I'll post video when I can figure out how.

Should things said while sleep talking be taken as an offense?

We had a crazy night...baseball game, RS activity, unexpected trip the ER for an earache...trip the 24 hour pharmacy for an RX...all around late night...(and we are supposed to leave town in the morning).

So, of course when he needs the most sleep, Cannon (or Cannon's body) decides to walk and talk in his sleep.

He just came down to the office and said, "Where's Mom? I just saw her."
I looked at him and said, "I am Mom -- why are you looking for me?"
He smiled and said, "Yeah, I need to know where Mom is."
To which I replied, "Cannon - I am Mom. What do you need? Just go back to bed."
He responded with, "No, I need Mom. Where is she?"
I said, "Go back to bed, Cannon."
And he said in a slightly irritated voice, "I mean, I am looking for Mom and Dad."
I sighed and said, "I AM Mom and Dad is at work."
Then with a frustrated shrug of his shoulders he said, "I am looking for the two wolves. Where are they?"

Hmmm....is one to assume that WE are the wolves?
And how would a dream translator interpret that?
*We are mean? (After all...when do you really ever hear about NICE wolves? Little Red Riding Hood? The Three Little Pigs?)
*We threaten to eat our children?
*We have long teeth?
*We are hairy?

My translation? WE are tired.

No offense taken.

Note to self...

* You need to post about Addysen winning the Young Author's contest, as well as being selected as the Ohio Lottery Academic Student of the Month. After all, you loved attending Young Author's conferences as a kid (and her books are SO much better than your, "Fiddle the Mouse," and "Bud Luscher Is Missing.)
And...since her Ohio Lottery prize came with tickets to the Indians game, shirts, a sweatshirt, mousepad and some school supplies, it might be nice to make mention of it on your blog - -for posterity's sake.

Let the games begin...actually, they already have.

Happily, I find myself enjoying Cannon's baseball games more this season. I attribute it to the following:
* The kids are a little older and seem to know a bit more about how to actually play.
(I know, I know...some of you die-hard fanatics will argue that Monday's game was not a great representation of knowing how to play. I said "A BIT." For someone like me who doesn't really know much about the game - - I just appreciate some action (translation: hitting and catching) on the field. What do I know about balks? Is that even how you spell it?)
* Cambrie is older and can sort-of play on the playground nearby. Sort of.
* Addysen is old enough to babysit Cambrie on the playground so I can watch the game.
* I'm not pregnant. That first summer was a killer -- being sick and pregnant in July -- watching kids strike out for 2 hours in 90 degree heat and 80% humidity did not translate to a fun season for this mother.
* PLAY BALL!
