Angels must be watching over us.
About 30 minutes ago - we were scrambling to get out the door to take Cannon to baseball. (I had just walked in the door and we were late.) I was rushing to get everyone ready and out the door so I asked Addysen to turn the car on so the a/c could be running as it is so hot and humid outside. (I had been driving Greg's car.) First mistake on my part. I swear she had turned the key before...but apparently, she either had and forgot how to do it..or she had never done it before.
From inside the house, I heard her scream -- only to look out and see the Suburban going backwards down the driveway and into the street. I didn't see Addysen. Good thing I am such a fast runner...and almost as agile as an Olympic hurdler (anyone been in my laundry room to see the piles that are a constant?) I flew out the door and across the street -- arriving just as Addysen jumped BACK into the car and slammed on the emergency brake. Amazingly, the car missed the flower pots, street sign, the neighborhood flower beds, brick pillars and fence across the street. In fact, the ground is so dry that you can't even see tire marks on the grass. More amazingly though -- and for which I am most grateful - no one was hurt. The fact that no other kids (as is usually the case) were in the driveway or on the sidewalk, and the fact that no other cars were on the street is truly amazing. It's also amazing that Addysen didn't get knocked over by the door or the car as she jumped in and out of the moving vehicle. The neighbors heard the scream and came running out - - nice way to meet them for the first time after living here for two years....but all is well...and I am so grateful.
Now, if I could just stop shaking and get back to work.

I have not given up hope.
I still have hope -- despite that fact that within 3 days of finishing my "super strong" antibiotic, I had a headache on Saturday. It developed into a full-blown, wish-my-head-could-be-cut-off-migraine by last night. I think I was a bit incoherent when I called Greg at 4am and said something to the effect of, "can you just kill me now?"
I still have hope. Tonight it comes in the form of a Neti Pot. A strange solution that makes you feel like you are drowning.
Can you tell I am willing to try just about anything?

Ten.
Our Big Boy is now 10.
(Again, more pictures would be posted if they would show up in blogger.
My frustrations are mounting. But we'll save that story for another day.)
In Cannon's birth announcement - he was dressed in baseball attire...
allowing us to introduce our little slugger who debuted at 10lbs, 2 oz and was 21.5" long on July 18, 2000.
If I had thought that birth announcements could lead to self-fulfilling prophecy, I would have added so many other things.
We are so grateful to have Cannon in our family -- even when he does tease.

Inidans game.
Addysen won tickets to the Indians game as an Ohio Lottery Student of the Month. We went down early so she could get her prize pack and be interviewed for the score board. They were having a "vampire" theme that night and Cannon's crazy 'scary' face also ended up plastered across the scoreboard. The weather was perfect, the Indians won and overall we had a great evening. I'm finding that we're having a whole new kind of fun with our kids as they get older.
*More pictures would have been posted but I've about given up on Blogger. Does anyone else think it takes FOREVER to upload pictures?

I want to blog...and knock Lebron in the head
I want to blog.
I have this strange sense of urgency (since this has become my newest journal) to get caught up.
What happened to the lazy days of summer?
What happened to the month of June?
(Grandma Elaines's Memorial service in Maryland, Camping with all the Kerr's, swimming, bbq's, B's two ear-infections, baseball...and more baseball, Season 6 of 24, presidency meetings, Cub Scout Day Camp, working, an Indian's game, library reading club...)
How is it already July?
I want to blog.
But I also want to sleep.
I guess we don't always get what we want.
THANKS LEBRON.
I guess I just have to settle for blogging about knocking Lebron in the head since his decision certainly isn't going to help me sleep.

20 Second Fitness Plug
A link to the 20 Second Fitness Infomercial which will air in select cities. My sister's family (MITZI & RANDY) are featured throughout. I have the program and really like it. Because it is an infomercial, it is 30 seconds long...broken down into three 10-minute segments on YouTube.
Just FYI -- the two cutest little boys at the beginning (swinging on the playground, and eating the donut and the cookie) are my nephews. My sister and brother-in-law start around 8:45ish in segment 1 and then are featured throughout segments 2 and 3. Their family is shown doing the workout together, but they are missing child #4).

Hope: A good thing
Hope: It's A Good Thing.
Today my hope comes in the form of a cat scan diagnosis: sinusitis.
My hope comes in the form of a rather large white pill (actually, many of them) which will presumably cure the chronic migraines and back-to-back-to-back-to-back sinus infections which have plagued me for the past 5 months. It's time to get back to living, rather than just enduring.
My hope comes in the form of the crystal clear blue skies, white puffy clouds, beautiful sunshine and no humidity.
My hope comes in the form of flowers: vibrant and blossoming in every yard on every street.
My hope comes in the form of giggles from the other room.
My hope comes in the form of every ball Cannon's bat connects with during his baseball games.
My hope comes in the form of Cambrie's dimple and bright blue eyes.
My hope comes in the form of Lebron James staying in Cleveland...and the Indians win over Toronto last night.
My hope comes in the form of knowing that next month my parents will celebrate 40 years of marriage...and knowing that if all goes well, my entire family will be together approximately 6 weeks from now.
My hope comes in the form of Old Glory - - waving strong and proud from flagpoles and porches all around.
Hope: It's A Good Thing.
